1. I've always always loved kids and couldn't wait to be a mom, but this week has made me think back to all my years of babysitting and think- that didn't prepare me at all!
BABYSITTING- I got paid, got to be in someone else's home (usually admiring decor and bedding and the well stocked fridge and pantry.) was all about projects and crafts and could deal with any mess or tantrum because I knew i was only there temporarily.
MOTHERHOOD- I don't get paid, and even though I wish I could  I can't make side money to even save for the frivolous things I want. My day is never really done because someone is teething or has a bad dream, the dishwasher needs to be unloaded still, and the laundry- as soon as its don't dirty socks get thrown in.

2. Last Friday I really wanted the car because Hazel had been invited for two different play dates and in my head I saw hours of quality mama and son time doing errands and just relishing time with ONLY one babe. Those daydreams came true- even if it was only grocery shopping and returns BUT the almost 3 hours of car time for the day totally made it not worth it.

3. I like cooking and happily make dinner almost every night but sometimes I wish I could tell my family members- were having salad and popcorn because that's what I want. I would probably like to do that several times a week actually.

4. I find myself "texting, calling, talking out conversations" in my head that I think I'm actually doing in real life. At the end of the day I realize I still didn't text Liz back, or no- I never actually called my mom.

5. Marathon training is my thing. It gives me hours alone, pushing myself physically and mentally and I'm loving it.

6. I've changed my nail polish almost weekly since watching Fixer Upper on HGTV. I just love how down to earth Joanna is (just like the rest of America has a girl crush on her) and I can't help but notice her nail polish and then whip out mine the next day. Even Brice noticed.

7. I already miss nursing. I miss the sit down time, the good hormones, and the metabolism. On the other hand I'm back to wearing my cheap target sports bra and that feels good!
I have only 7 more weeks until the Irving Marathon. I'm starting to see the training and long runs improving and it is getting me excited for racing! I think I prefer the weeks of training and progression than the actual race though.
Today I ran 20 miles at an average 7:32/mile pace. My race pace is a little faster so this felt pretty good and comfortable except I talked to a friend for 16 miles and that was a little bit more tiring, but  I loved the company.
This weeks workouts:

Monday: 13 miles- 8 in the AM and 4 in the PM. Mostly I needed the stress reliever that night
Tuesday: 10 miles (5 were fast at 7:08 or faster)
Wednesday: 8 Yassos
Thursday: 8 progression miles
Friday: 4 miles in 31:40 (pace 7:01)
Saturday: 20 miles in 2:30 (pace 7:32)

The only thing to complain about is I just don't feel like I get enough rest and time off my feet after my long runs, which is probably because I have two kids and errands to accomplish with on my day with the car. Hopefully things keep going well!

:: hazel ::
1. Got a new pair of shoes so she was eager to model for pictures today.
2. Yesterday we walked 4 miles round trip to the mall and she kept saying, "man sitting in the stroller is so hard."
3. Hazel has so much energy that it drives me crazy inside, all the jumping, spinning, building, climbing, running- it makes me really wish we had a backyard to let her just go crazy in.
4. She's been remembering things a lot lately and likes to talk about past events and memories.
5. Our scripture of the week talked about "immortality" so she asked me everyday for a week about death and if I was going to die. it was insightful and tender. She also told me her stuffed puppy died even though we just lost it.
6. Loves to clean up her toys as long as she can do it like mommy does- FAST!
7. She can scooter so fast now and loves to tell herself up the hills "I think I can...I think I can..." its hilarious.
8. She has gotten so much easier at dinnertime and will eat whatever is put in front of her. She still dislikes things of course but mostly avocado and rice.

1. That look. seriously. his blue eyes and extra long eyelashes. seriously.
2. I weaned him mostly this last week. I decided to go cold turkey and didn't nurse him for 4 days but my milk was not going down so I nursed him once and it all emptied out. now its seriously almost entirely gone but I've been nursing him just before bed for the snuggling. He can go down with or without that one nursing session which I am really proud of.
3. He doesn't like cows milk (just like Hazel) but loves his yogurt and cheese.
4. He can walk up and down the stairs outside now.
5. He loves to hold hands or sit on my lap.
6. Has figured out that his crane and dump truck have wheels and "vrooms" them all around now. how do boys just now how to do that?
7. When he's naughty its usually something going on in the bathroom- throwing things in the toilet, unraveling all the toilet paper, shutting the door behind himself, or climbing up the stool.

Monday: 8 easy miles and Insanity
Tuesday:11 miles (tempo run with 6 miles at 7:19-6:58 pace)
Wednesday: 8 miles, sprint intervals average pace of 6:15
Thursday: 10 miles on the treadmill
Friday: 8 miles + ab workout
Saturday: 18 miles in 2:15 (average 7:32/mile pace)
Sunday: rest day!

total miles: 63
I've always looked forward to the start of a new week.

I like to pick up from the weekend, do laundry, and get a good run in to start the week off right. I ran 8 miles this morning outside and my last three were 6:55, 6:54, 6:57. I'm taking the whole "finish fast" approach seriously. It's usually motivated by the fact that Brice needs to go to work and I'm still a little too far away.

Today I smell like cabbage -Helping the weaning process right along, laundry is folded and put away, and I put out red and pink M&Ms for the month.
It's payday... and rent is due today too. I hate when they land on the exact same day. Money in and money out so fast.
Girls night in tonight watching those crazies on the Bachelor.

How's your Monday?

Monday: 7 easy miles and Insanity
Tuesday: 12 miles and BBG
Wednesday: 8 miles total with 8 Yasso 1/2 miles at 3:05
Thursday: 11 miles and BBG
Friday: 5 easy miles outside
Saturday: 17 mile long run (12 miles with Brice averaging a 7:40 pace and then 5 miles alone averaging 7:10 pace)
Sunday: rest day

Total miles: 60
Thoughts: I really love marathon training. Seeing the progression of my runs and watching my pace all while actually feeling great is really motivating! I felt great doing every workout but I've gone to bed by 9:00-9:30 every night so I'm definitely feeling it.
