The last birthday post- post 3

I spent the evening before the party baking cakes to make the cutest stacked little cake. Turns out I'm not a baker- actually I could have told you that way before baking these cakes. I'm not sure why I thought just browsing pictures of adorable cakes on Pinterest would automatically give me the skill to make them myself.  The cakes got destroyed so Hazel got to eat a perfectly sized, non-homemade, $2.00 cupcake and I was just fine with that.

At first she had not interest or idea what to do, so we helped her out a bit. Then she shared with Brice, and smashed the rest!

It was a cold evening and you can tell by looking at her pink nose!

Birthday post -2

Hazel even got her finger up to tell everyone she's "1" or #1 :)

Hazel's birthday- post 1
Hazel's first birthday party was on Friday, October 4th, the eve of her first birthday! We celebrated with a caramel apple bar, popcorn, eating donuts off a string, and chatting with friends. The treats were yummy!

more pictures to come

This week was such a hard week with Hazel. She has been so full of tears, clingy, and sick. The only thing that helped me get through it was eating candy corn and running. I'm not even sure I like candy corn but didnt stop me from snacking on a lot if it!
Here's a recap of my workouts
Monday: 7 miles outside plus 4 on the treadmill
Tuesday: 10 miles plus insanity workout
Wednesday: 7 miles and a fun zumba class with girlfriends
Thursday: 10 miles easy
Friday: 12 miles (longish run)
Saturday: 8 miles around Provo in 59:00
Sunday: rest

Weekly total: 58

"Happiness within our family will most likely be achieved when it’s founded on the teachings of Jesus. That means being unselfish, honest, loyal, loving and a whole host of other virtues, not to mention a lot of effort. A loving and happy family doesn’t happen by accident."

Johnson Family, September 2013

While we were in Seattle for the Summer our apartment here in Provo was being remodeled so we could move right back in when we got home. It's still a little apartment and not our dream home but I sure have some favorite spots.

I love decorating and shopping for home decor, but am still figuring out exactly what our my style is all about. All that matters is that it feels nice to come home to a clean and organized apartment, and a place where we all feel safe and are happy to be.
Enjoy a little bit of our home.
