Last night I threw a bridal shower for my sister Melanie. She gets married in 12 days and couldn't be more excited or more in love with her fiancee Kris. It was so fun for me to plan a little party and get creative and crafty for a night.
The theme was "Pucker Up for your sweetie" so we had lots of lemon foods. Lemonade, Pink lemonade, lemon bread, cupcakes with raspberry frosting, chicken salad sandwiches, bowtie salad, fruit and veggies. I think everyone had a good time and she left with a lot of gifts. Thank you to my mom for helping to buy food, couldn't have done it alone! We also played a couple of games that kept people laughing! Congrats you guys! We couldn't be happier for you!

Happy Birthday to my sister Melanie!!

Seriously Mel, I could go on forever. You are the best example to me. You have taught me self-love, patience, and faith in the timing of our Heavenly Father. You remind me constantly of my potential and don't let me have self-pity parties too often. You remind me school is important, and you like the way I decorate. Thanks for making me feel good- but today is all about you! Hope you have a great day!
Treat her right Kris Sorensen :)

We needed to have an early halloween, because Brice is going to be out of town Halloween weekend. He'll be in New Orleans for a NSO (new student orientation) convention where BYU is showing off some of their great ideas!
Anyways, We spent the day with Melanie and Kris trying to fit in as many Halloween things we could. We picked the most perfect pumpkins, but enjoyed seeing all the different sizes and shapes. Then we went ahead and tested our carving abilities..Kris takes this pretty seriously...but it was so fun! Brice and I both thought it was kinda crazy he had a whole drawer of carving utensils. We're just jealous though. After carving and finishing the BYU game we headed to Chipotle for dinner. so yummy!! Then we went back and watched Hocus Pocus. Melanie and I grew up watching this on most Halloween nights so it was fun to share the tradition.
Finally, Mel and Kris headed to the haunted Circus but we passed because we had a whole lot of laundry to get done. Thanks guys for helping us enjoy an early Halloween. I will go ahead and eat some candy the rest of the month, just to make it official!
 Happy Halloween!

I just couldn't help but stuff the little pumpkin under my shirt after our first photo looked like we were such proud parents showing off our new babe!
