We spent our Memorial Day downtown visiting Klyde Warren Park. It is a super urban and cool park in the middle of downtown businesses. They have a dog park, ping-pong tables set up, a play area for kids, splash pad, walking trails, a concert venue, and apparently its the hot spot for the Dallas food truck scene.

We are looking forward  to going back with our swimsuits to enjoy that splash pad!

There's this tree where i guess they do weekly Storytime for kids and Hazel really loved going up and down all those stairs.

We celebrated Brice's birthday last Sunday with a yummy dinner and scotcheroos-his requested dessert!
I hope he knows how many people love him and are so proud of the man he is and his many talents and accomplishments.

^I took the happy birthday banner down and now this wall is just bare white- it needs some major color or decor-help!?!^

Our apartment complex is called, The Lakes at the Village. It has two big lakes in the middle with a mile walking trail around and lots of animals and birds. So far we have been on a walk everyday and Hazel loves seeing all the squirrels, ducks, geese, turtles, and dogs being walked around.

*thanks to Sami Wright she mimics the squirrels eating nuts every time she sees one- it's pretty cute!*

Brice and Hazel also enjoyed a quick swim one night. It took her a few minutes to warm up to the idea of jumping into Brice's arms but then she did and wouldn't stop.

We are really enjoying living here so far and are really glad we picked this apartment- even if we had a raccoon in our wall! ...don't worry its gone now :)

This week we tried a local pizza favorite- Cane Rosso- and it was so good! We met up with my cousin Lisa and her hubby, Ryan who are in the middle of  moving to Dallas too!
Hazel loved the pig just like every other animal she is obsessed with right now. Hazel is super into finding bugs/ants too. We are usually out on a walk and then she sits on the ground and stares at bugs.

We are getting settled in and Brice starts at Parevida Solutions tomorrow! Wish him luck!

We made it to our new home in Dallas, Texas! We've been here fot TWO weeks now and are pretty much all settled in. We have all worked really hard the last few days getting things crossed off our list, new things added, crossing more things off... I still need to buy towels for the second bathroom and we need to do all the car inspection, registration, new Texas drivers licenses, but those are just going to have to wait a bit!

The 18+ hour car trip went much better than we had anticipated. We started early on Thursday morning and had sunny skies, rain, hail, and snow (thanks Colorado!) We made it 9 hours before we told Hazel she could watch a show- Clifford the Big Red Dog is her favorite right now. Lots of books were read, Legos built, bike horns honked, fly balls put in water bottles and back out, coloring pages colored and ripped to pieces, and many, many snacks were eaten.

Brice and I enjoyed the time to talk about what's ahead for our family and our goals for ourselves. We were so grateful that the Jetta did well and we had no mechanical issues or speeding tickets!

Here are some pictures of Hazel throughout the trip- we kept her in comfy PJ's and I think that helped her take an extra long nap too :)

Enjoying almost TWO slices of pizza at the Wrights after a long movin day!

This was everything pscked except Hazel's crib and our bed/mattress. We set up our camping chairs to watch a show at the end of the day. I was pooped!

Hazel has been loving the slide an swings at the Wright's house. Brice an I are really enjoyin sll the available babysitters ;)

Saying goodbye to Daddy's  motorcycle righ before we sold it!
