Running in Circles

This is me catching up. We've had a lot going on the last two weeks and there are absolutely no complaints about it. These pictures pretty much sum up a few hours at the Microsoft IT Family Picnic. It was great to meet the people Brice worked with all summer and enjoy the summer day outside!

This is Lake Sammamish. I spent Saturdays running around it and admiring all the gorgeous houses.

My parents have been visiting and it has been so fun to have them around and show them around the city! I really don't like any of these pictures of myself but don't want to forget the fun weekend!

Friday night we hiked Little Mt. Si , a 5 mile hike (roundtrip)  up to the summit. It was a spectacular view but was harder than we expected.

On Saturday we took our adventures to Downtown Seattle. We explored Pikes Place, sampled foods, and took the ferry to Bainbridge. It was the most beautiful day and it was so fun to sit next to the water for lunch and ice cream. We finished off the day at SafeCo Stadium to cheer on the Mariners Angels.

 Hazel has loved the extra attention and has decided to give walking a try to impress her grandparents. 5 steps here, 6 steps there..its fun to see her feeling accomplished and appreciative of our applause! 

We leave next Saturday and are excited to get back to Provo but so grateful for the time we've spent here in Seattle!

We're taking Hazel on her first camping trip tonight- so excited for time with new friends, hiking, and yummy s'mores!

So it turns out that its still in the rainy season here in Seattle. Like it has not rained only 4 or 5 days since we've been here! Hazel and I discovered this little play area at the Bellevue Square Mall and now it has become a weekly place to visit. 

There's usually 30+ kids running an climbing around and Hazel LOVES to watch the big kids play!!

This girl is developing some serious personality. She is still an easy going, happy baby but has mastered the fake cry at bedtime and knows when shes in trouble because she gives me the biggest puppy eyes ever.

I just love her!

P.S. this humidity does nothing for my hair. yikes!

On Wednesday we got together with a few other BYU Interns working at Microsoft to go on an adventure. We managed to enjoy evening rush-hour traffic on the 520 so we could take the ferry over to Bainbridge Island. Once we were on the island we drove right to Mora's ice cream. 

The BEST ice cream we have ever had! Hazel enjoyed a few licks too!

We really enjoyed the night out on the town, getting to know a few more BYU people, and the treat! man- it really was that good! 

We spent our Memorial day enjoying the Pacific Science Center with our good friends Nathan and Naomi. It was such a fun hands-on museum and Hazel and Brice especially loved all the over-stimulation. There were lots of exhibits to be explored. Some of our favorites were the Health and Wellness area, the Space and planet stuff, and the fun mirrors. 

I'd say everyone had a good time. 

After the Discovery Center we enjoyed dinner at Ivers Fish Market and checked out the fish mongers and beautiful fresh flowers and produce at Pikes Peak Market.

Most importantly we are are so grateful for the servicemen and women who sacrifice so much to serve our country and protect our freedoms. We live in a blessed country and we are so grateful for the freedoms that we enjoy! We love the USA!

We decided to do a little car shopping this morning! 

We got Brice's first paycheck from Microsoft and thought what the heck- lets go get a new car! Too bad all the cars we looked at today were a little out of our budget.

okay okay it was the Redmond Exotic Car Show and we were only looking :)

There were lots of fun cars an Brice really enjoyed telling me and Hazel about them- until we stopped listening at least!

My favorite part of the day was noticing that GAP is having a major sale this holiday weekend!
