On Saturday, his birthday we celebrated Henry turning ONE!
We had such a fun little party celebrating "our party animal" and loved having time with friends and all their kids in our apartment. I'm so glad our friends are so go with the flow because there was 20+ in our little apartment.

I was scrambling to get everything set up so I really only got to snap a few pictures before friends were arriving. I love seeing how the little details come together.
Brice helped design the invites, I spent my evenings making the banners, spray painting, and planning out the food. We served "popcorn party mix" - popcorn, pretzels, peanuts, M&Ms, and animal cookies, crackers and cheese, fruit, and cupcakes!

Henry loved having so many friends around and just loved his chocolate cupcake. He stuffed it right into his mouth and just sucked all that frosting off before taking a break to breathe. He got some great little gifts and I just can't believe he's already one!

Happy Birthday Henry!
You're ONE

Height: 30 1/4 inches
Weight:20 pounds
Head: 17 3/4

- This boy is looking so much bigger after turning ONE! I know its got to be all in my head but I sweat he filled out his carseat today.
- Sleeps from 8:00-7:00 most days. He sometimes wakes up through the night still but we've been having him cry it out.
- Happy, happy, happy!
-loves to grunt and say "dada". He still squeals a lot too which drives me crazy!
- only says "mama" when he's sad or upset.
- Henry chases the vacuum when its on and the ducks outside. He is always unplugging cords and chargers from the wall and always makes eye contact with me before he does it!
- he loves to climb on the stool to brush his teeth and prefers to take baths WITHOUT Hazel now.
- loves playing with vehicles that move, balls, birthday balloons!
- Still isn't too interested in reading books for a period of time, but I try daily.
- Henry will eat anything you put in front of him.
He loves crackers with cheese, yogurt, lasagna, bread, apples, bananas, dried fruit, avocado, beans, applesauce pouches, and corn. He always spits ham out of his sandwich though.
- Has started dancing when he hears music.

- I still nurse him 3-4 times a day, but I'm feeling ready to be done breastfeeding so I think in the next month he will be totally weaned. Sorry bud!
- Still loves that newborn binki but I only give it to him at bedtime and he usually throws it out of his crib and that's it for the night.
- Is giving us a run for our money at church. Brice and I feel like we really just swap him between us and the halls every hour. It's exhausting!

Henry is 11 months old tomorrow!

- Walking, Walking, Walking
- Has double ear infections right now.
- Loves the bath, especially if you leave some water on while hes in there. He tries so hard to grab that running water.
- nicknames- boom-boom, little boy, Hen
- loves pouches, the vacuum, being near his mama.
- Loves swinging and sliding at the park, and trying to stick any leaves or acorns in his mouth. He climbed up a small slide by himself yesterday.
- loves peanut butter and honey sandwiches, apple slices, string cheese, pasta and red sauce, any form of crackers, bananas, and yogurt.
- His favorite pouches or baby food are spinach based.
- Still wearing mostly 3/6 month clothes with some 6/9 month shirts.
- Henry is getting the hang of using a spoon and fork- meal time is messy but he loves the bath afterwards.

- Finally starting signing "more" and "all done"
- Cut his 7th tooth (3rd on the bottom) and has such a cheesy crooked smile that we love
- Sounds like he's so close to saying MaMa and DaDa
- Henry is the best little chore buddy. He likes to unload the dishwasher, unfold clothes, put toys back in the baskets, and push the high chair back in its spot. :)
- I put him in his first pair of 6-12 month pants and they stayed on but the bottoms were rolled up about an inch.

- Has learned how to give high- fives and wave but both take a lot of prodding to get him to do.

Henry still brings a peaceful love into our home. He has been such an easy going and happy baby and I am so grateful. His little face lights up when he sees Brice or I.  Hazel is the best at getting him to be silly and laugh and watching them actually play together makes my mama heart so happy. I'm so grateful Henry has been a good eater, and sleeper, and nurser. I hope he feels loved and a part of our little family.

Hazel asked us the other day for " a lot, a lot, a lot more babies"....but right now things feel really good!

Height: 26.5 inches

-We are just so glad he's in our family and i really cant believe how quickly he's growing.

^ He grins with his whole little mouth ^

- currently has three teeth that have cut through, but they're still making their way all the way up...two on the bottom and one on top...
- goes to bed at 8:00 and wakes up at 6:30 on the dot
- For two or three days he started biting me while nursing but after scolding him and putting him on the floor and walking away twice he hasn't done it again. bites are the worst!
- LOVES when Hazel sings songs to him
- his hair is looking a little red just like Hazel's did at this age

- loves being outside in the stroller
- SMILES all day!
- wearing 3-6 month bottoms and 6-12 month tops.
- His next appointment isnt for two weeks so i have no idea his height or weight. Ill add it in when we know.

- loves his mama, but still isn't saying "mama" or "dada"
- naps at 9:00-10:30 and 1:00ish-3:00 (no complaints from me)

^ can you see those little teeth?! ^

I am so grateful to be Henry's mother. I've told Brice a lot from the beginning that I think Henry is going to just be a sweet and sensitive boy and recently I've had a few little experiences that just confirm this. Henry is always crawling over to sit on my lap or lay next to me if I'm on the floor and a few times lately my heart has just surged with anticipation. I feel his love for me so strongly. Of course he needs me and recognizes me, but man I can FEEL his love for me and it is overwhelming. I hope we always are close.

- This little guy is moving all over- rolling, sitting, CRAWLING, basically he just follows me room to room
- Has tried pureed bananas, sweet potatoes, and peaches. He LOVED the bananas!!
- I've given him thick slices of cucumber and tomatoes and the broccoli stem to suck on while I cook.
- He loves sitting in the high chair and eating dinner with the rest of us.

- Picks up and eats cheerios all day everyday! I was pretty surprised to see that he could grasp them already but he does it!
- Sleeps from 8:00- 6:30 am with two naps during the day
- Henry has started actually playing with toys
- He loves when he is carried and snuggled by mama- he's definitely my little buddy
- NO TEETH
- Sits much happier in the car seat
- loves being swaddled still- I'm gonna start breaking that routine up a bit
- Took a bottle this week several times so great. I got the flu and had to give him some frozen milk but he didn't seem to mind at all. He even held the bottle with his own hands.
- mostly sleeps through Hazels night time accident cleanup ordeal ;)
- still wearing 3-6 month clothes and 0-3 shoes
- Henry is just such a happy easy going baby. He is enjoying crawling and exploring new things, but definitely likes to stay close to his mama. We just love him and are so grateful that he's in our family.

SIX MONTHS!!!

 Height: 25.5 inches
Weight: 16.5 pounds
Head circumference: 6.5 inches

-Henry sleeps from 8:00-8:30 until 6:30 when I wake him up to feed him. He's been waking up on his own some days around that time but he usually will go back to sleep after nursing for an hour.
- Naps from 9-10:30 and 12:30-3:00 and begs me for one more in the late afternoon but I'm trying to weed that out so he'll just go to bed earlier.
-Sometimes having Hazel and Henry in the same room throws off the schedule from what I'd like it to be.

-Drooling and has had a fever off and on for a week now but still no teeth!
-LOVES his sister!
- Can scoot, get up on all fours, and sit up. He still is a bit unsteady sitting up on his own though.
- Thinks everything should go in his mouth and you can just tell he is so eager to eat foods!
- loves going on walks
- loves attention and will ham it up for anybody.
-Still loves his binkie and being swaddled!
- Took his first airplane trip this month to visit grandparents in California. It was a 3 hour flight but he did really great!
- blows raspberries,  farts a lot, and still has bright blue eyes!
- wearing size TWO diapers and 3-6 month clothes. they're not even getting snug on him yet.
- Henry loves the water! Whether its the bath tub or pool or shower he is just as happy as can be!

- Sleeps from 8:00 pm to 6:30 am. I wake him up instead of pumping because he still wont take a bottle.
- Henry is moving all over...rolling, moving in circles, trying to crawl.
- still loves being swaddled, loves his binky, and sleeping on his tummy.
- Just the happiest boy! i'm pretty positive I can count the number of times he has been so upset on my fingers. He doesn't like his carseat for longer that 5 minutes but everything else he is pretty relaxed about.
-Henry is reaching for toys, rolling throughout the room, grabbing and pulling hair, drooling, and putting everything into his mouth!
- LOVES swimming and bath time and LOVES his sister!
- No teeth yet and doesn't take a bottle
-Wearing 3-6 month clothes
-wearing size 2 diapers

^ Dont mind that middle finger of his- we had a talk about it :) ^

- He loves his mama!
- Hazel can make him laugh the easiest.
- Weighs 15 pounds and 8 oz (50th percentile) and is 24.5 inches long (25th percentile)
- Henry does not like his carseat at all! It's probably because he's not in it all that often, but its guaranteed even a five minute drive will be filled with crying.
- Wears some 3-6 months clothes and some 0-3 still.
- During the day he naps from 9:00-10:15 and 12:00-3:00 and 4:30-5:30. He goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 most nights but is waking up two to three times each night. I usually feed him because then he goes back down so easily, but I've decided it's time to sleep train. He's big enough and just needs to learn to sleep at night now. WISH US LUCK!
- He is a tummy sleeper. At 8 weeks old we noticed he was getting a pretty big flat spot on the back of his head so after getting it evaluated (it was too mild to act on it but the specialist suggested we avoid things with an incline and do more tummy time) I started putting him to sleep on his stomach. He didn't seem to mind or care about the switch at all. He probably only spends an hour or two each day on his back now and the spot has almost completely fixed itself.
- Still wearing size one diapers but he is ready to move up to size two
- Does great in the stroller, loves his binki, and loves being swaddled to sleep.
- this kid is a sweaty sleeper.
- Henry loves one-on-one attention and being talked to directly. He will give anyone the biggest smiles and has started actually giggling
- He can grab toys and hair :) and is starting to put most things straight into his mouth.
- Isn't rolling over yet, but does baby pushups and can sorta scoot!! Its kinda crazy to watch him bending his knees under his tummy and plow forward but he does it daily!

We just love him!
We blessed Henry this last Sunday in our ward here in Dallas.  It was a thoughtful blessing and made me all the more grateful to be living the gospel and to be married to a man who holds the priesthood honorably. We had our home teachers and Ryan Taylor in the blessing circle.

Heavenly Father we come before thee by the power and authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood to give this baby a name and a blessing. The name in which he should be known by the records of the church is Henry Brice Johnson.

At this time Henry we desire to give thee a blessing. We bless you that faith will come easily to you and you will be able to choose the right easily. We bless you that you will be able to see the end from the beginning and for you to understand that this life is just a temporary state and just a time for you to learn and to grow to become more like your Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a great blessing for you Henry to be born in the church and we bless you that you will be able to take advantage of that in your life and apply the blessings and teachings you will learn both for your own benefit and also for all those you come in contact with.

We give you this blessing Henry, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Henry at TWO months

Height: 22 3/4 inches
Weight: 12 pounds 11 oz
Head circumference: 15 inches

- Goes to bed between 8:30-9:30 an sleeps until 3ish.. eats and goes back down to 6 or 7.
-Is having three naps a day at 9 am, 12 pm, and 4 pm.
-Wearing size 1 diapers but almost ready to move up.
- Is wearing 0-3 month clothes no problem now!
- Loves tummy time and loves milk
- For a few weeks he would spit up after every feeding but i think since his little tummy has grown he's grown out of that. (which his really nice)
- passed his hearing re-test with flying colors
- Gets to go on his first camping trip in TWO weeks, which also includes a 14 hour drive :(
- Has been to church, the Houston Rodeo, and lots of parks with his big sister
- Has a bit of a flat spot on the back of his head so were going to get that evaluated later this week. It really surprised me because we do lots of tummy time and his neck is SO strong, but hes also a good sleeper so maybe that's how he got it.
- Henry is the happiest baby ever. He just gives the biggest grins and is cooing deep from his belly. He just loves it when he hears his mama talk all silly.
- Does pretty well in the carseat, moby wrap, stroller, and  loves his binky.
-Henry has much more sensitive skin than Hazel had- its pretty dry so he gets greased up everyday.

We just love Henry so much and love having a baby in our home. I hope he feels that love and continues to grow healthy and strong. Also, I hope his head is an easy fix. It feels like its one thing after another ( low heart rate, failed harign test, terrible face acne, dry skin, and now his flat head.) with this kid and he's only 8 weeks old!
