Today is Brice's last day as an Intern at Microsoft. Yesterday his department had a family picnic/outdoor party. There was yummy food, the beautiful lake,a DJ, games, bounce-houses, kettle corn, gift cards to win, and unlimited ice cream. Hazel mostly was concerned about the ice cream and she took matters into her own hands- literally!

Our friends Carly and Kyle have the cutest little bird. I thought Hazel would be nervous around the tiny bird but she loved him! We had to snap a few pictures before she tried to squeeze him ;)

p.s. this girl is walking like a pro-...its exciting and terrifying at the same time. She hardly seems like a baby anymore.

1173
miles run this year!

I decided to keep track of my workouts on the blog, so every Sunday I'm going to post a weeks review.

Tuesday: 8 miles (progression run) and Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance
Wednesday: 7 miles at 7:20 pace and ab workout on the floor
Thursday:  8 miles (progression run) and Insanity Pure Cardio
Friday: 8 miles

Sunday: REST

My parents have been visiting and it has been so fun to have them around and show them around the city! I really don't like any of these pictures of myself but don't want to forget the fun weekend!

Friday night we hiked Little Mt. Si , a 5 mile hike (roundtrip)  up to the summit. It was a spectacular view but was harder than we expected.
On Saturday we took our adventures to Downtown Seattle. We explored Pikes Place, sampled foods, and took the ferry to Bainbridge. It was the most beautiful day and it was so fun to sit next to the water for lunch and ice cream. We finished off the day at SafeCo Stadium to cheer on the Mariners Angels.

Hazel loves baseball games- lots of people to entertain, loud music, and lots of clapping- its her kinda thing!

Hazel has loved the extra attention and has decided to give walking a try to impress her grandparents. 5 steps here, 6 steps there..its fun to see her feeling accomplished and appreciative of our applause!

We leave next Saturday and are excited to get back to Provo but so grateful for the time we've spent here in Seattle!
This is one of the yummiest pasta salads! We eat it with BLT's or other sandwiches for dinner kinda meals!

Bowtie Summer Salad
2 cups of bowtie pasta (or 1/2 a box)
2 cups fresh spinach leaves
1 cup of grape tomatoes sliced in half
sliced or shaved Parmesan cheese
 1/2 cup Italian dressing

1. Cook the pasta al dente according to box directions. Drain and pour into serving bowl.
2. Add spinach leaves, sliced tomatoes and toss lighlty with pasta.
3. Pour dressing over salad and quickly add cheese on top
4. Mix it all around before serving.
enjoy!

I have a wonderful life- but lately I have felt in a bit of a funk! There's no real complaints- I have a happy marriage, beautiful daughter, hobbies, a testimony, kind friends, a loving family, a savings account, etc... but I feel like somethings off.

I have always wanted to be a mom and am so overwhelmingly happy with Hazel and the time we spend together each day. Hazel has been a loving daughter already- she satisfies my heart's needs, brings peace to mind, and a smile to my face.

Caring for her has come easily and is enjoyable, but in all the motherhood perfection I feel like I've sort of lost myself a bit.
So today I am a mother.
 I am a wife.
 I am a runner.
 I am a Dawson's Creek fan forever.
I am a decorator.
I am a frozen yogurt fan.
I am kind.
I am going to be a good one.

 Things to Remember:
- Hazel is more and more active everyday. She loves beign tossed in the air! (except over water ;) )
- Loves to snack on green apple slices, cheerios, goldfish, and yogurt.
- Went camping for the first time this last month and loved it!
- Giggling more and more.
- Loves being tickled by her daddy and held by her mommy.
- Wakes up between 7 and 8 most mornings
-Goes to bed at 8:00 pm every night.
- Loves the pool and bath! This little babe can kick those legs and is working her first tan already.
-Learned to clap her hands when we say "YAY" and it is so cute!
-Starting to wave at people but needs some help still.
-Loves to play with anything that is not a toy- kitchen bowls, boxes, cords, shoes!
- Spends her morning, every morning, unplugging all the cords plugged into the wall. I'm gathering pictures because it is kinda crazy and kinda funny. She pulls out every plug!
-Still has those two bottom teeth.
-We love her more and more!

I think she likes it!

Our 4th of July was filled with fun friends, festive foods, BBQ, boccie ball, and sitting lakeside on Washington Lake.

My sweet friend Alyssa invited us to hangout and eat with her family
