It is official.
Brice accepted a job at Parevida Solutions in Dallas, Texas.
He starts the second week of June.
We're really excited about this being the last semester of our college days and really excited about the future move, new job, new city, new car?!?

We're excited for warm winters, farmers markets, museums, new activities, to be downtown, a new apartment, the Trinity River Forest, and making new friends and new memories.

If anyone has any knowledge of Dallas or cheap moving options please let me know!

  3. Hooray! For moving to NY we uhaul u-pack boxes rather than a uhaul truck. It was a lot cheaper but we did move farther. There are some moving companies that are based in Nevada that give waaaay cheaper prices but beware! Read reviews they are total scammers. So if it seems to good I be true...it is! Our in laws had truck loads of stuff that never got returned to them.

Anyway good luck and congrats! So happy for you guys!

  4. We did u-pack just like Michelle and it was the cheapest option from Provo to Texas we could find. Good luck!

    1. Hey! can you give me an estimate of cost? Like $500? $1000? more? We're selling a lot so were trying to decide what we really need to transport it.

    2. For their services, you pay for the linear feet you use within the truck. You pick an amount you think you will use (we said 7") and it was going to be about $1200, which includes driver, gas, shipping, dropping it off and picking it up from both locations, etc, everything is packaged into that one cost. We only ended up using 5 linear feet of space so they took off about $120 I think, so it was even less than we thought. It is definitely the cheapest option we had. I've heard a general rule is that Uhaul/similar options are good for close, in town/county moves, and upack and those are better for cross country moves. Moving all the way to Texas I think it will be very difficult to find anything under $1000, but you also have less stuff than we do. Another suggestion I wish we had done - we're looking into credit cards now for miles so we can travel more easily to see family, and a lot of them have special offers if you spend a certain amount within the first 90 days. Our move down here, in the end, cost us a few thousand dollars all within 2-3 months, including gas, hotels/eating out for a week, setting up new services here, rent, moving, etc. It would have earned us TONS of miles or rewards to put it all on those cards. Just something to think about if you think you'd be interested.

  5. So EXCITING! We did pack rat. It's like a pod, but a nicer container. We had a lot of furniture to move, so it's what worked best for us moving down to Houston.
